Thoroughbreds at rest in the barn — Outwith Horses
OUTWITH HORSES
Post-Operative Rehabilitation
Windmill Hill · Ibthorpe · Hampshire · Test Valley AONB
The Programme
01
Structured Phasing
Rehabilitation is planned from day one around the surgical outcome and the operating vet's guidance. Each phase has defined objectives and progression criteria. No phase advances until the horse is ready — the horse sets the timeline, not a fixed schedule.
02
Professional Coordination
Kate works directly with the operating vet, farrier, physiotherapist and chiropractor throughout. All interventions are coordinated, timed to support recovery, and documented. One point of contact for the owner, managing the whole professional network.
03
Full Documentation
Every session, observation and treatment is recorded contemporaneously. Body condition and posture are photographed over time. The leaving pack is a complete medical and rehabilitation record — available for inspection and handed to the new keeper on departure.
Why This Is Different
"Surgical rehabilitation requires more than rest. It requires a handler who reads the horse accurately, adjusts the programme when the horse says to, and knows when to call the vet."
